My thanks to all who responded.
I do have to apologize if my query was somewhat unclear. I thought
there would have to be a standard solution somewhere, otherwise how
could icon read files created by other programs?
I will first look at the icon library.
Ray Pereda offered to help. I will ask him if I can't figure it out.
It is nice that us amateurs can depend on such things as the icon
library and on all the pro's out there who are kind enough to devote
their time to help us.
I use icon because it helps me get the work done, and it relieves me
of all the nitty gritty that those poor c programmers have to put up
with.
